Android Phones Overpowering iPhones

In a recent article titled 10 Androids That Outmuscle the iPhone, writer Scott Moritz states that 10 new Android phones are more powerful than Apple’s iPhone. The new Androids will be offered by Motorola Mobility, Samsung, HCT, and LG. Generally, the phones will be ultra-thin, 4G devices with larger screens and dual-core processors. This is just another way that Android’s 40% market share is outstripping Apple’s shine. The market will be watching for even more advancements from Android.

ATLANTIC-ACM, a leading telecommunications industry research firm, just announced that its new report, Perspectives on Prepaid Wireless 2011-2015, is now available. The report shows that prepaid wireless is expected to continue its upward growth as consumers move away from over-priced contract plans to economical no contract prepaid plans.

ATLANTIC-ACM President Fedor Smith stated that “The prepaid wireless market will continue to experience rapid growth through the middle of the decade.” The study predicts that prepaid wireless revenues will grow from $19.3 billion in 2010 to $25.3 billion by 2015.

The information above is a synopsis of this article.

This is in stark contrast to the previous history of prepaid wireless. In the past, prepaid wireless usually meant that one paid more and got less. Today, that’s been reversed. Today’s prepaid wireless customer typically pays less for prepaid than for postpaid service, and gets more value for their money.

It’s strange that the U.S. is the only country that’s ever had postpaid wireless. It looks like we’re now finally catching up with the rest of the world.

Lightyear Wireless is in a prime position to capitalize on this shift from contract to prepaid wireless. Its Unlimited Plan offers totally unlimited talk, text, and data for only $59.99 per month, with no data caps. The major wireless providers are reducing their data coverage and raising the cost of both their overall plans and their data plans. Where formerly Lightyear Wireless was half the cost of similar coverage from AT&T and Verizon, with its $59.99 plan, it’s now an even better deal, as their rates begin to soar and their data coverage drops.
